Privacy Policy
The short version: your birth chart data stays on your device. Here is the full version.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how SajuSis (“SajuSis,” “we,” “us”), operating at sajusis.com, handles information when you use our website. It applies to all visitors and users of SajuSis.
2. Birth chart data: stored locally, not on our servers
SajuSis’s core feature is calculating a Korean Four Pillars (Saju) chart from a birth date, birth time, and birth place that you enter. As a design principle, this information is processed in your browser and saved to your browser’s localStorage — a storage area private to your device and browser. We do not transmit this birth information to, or store it on, SajuSis servers, and we do not have server-side access to the charts you generate. Because of this:
- Clearing your browser data, using private/incognito mode, or switching browsers or devices will remove locally stored chart data, and we cannot restore it.
- If we later introduce optional server-side sync (for example, to support an account or subscription), it will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before that feature launches.
- We do not store celebrity or public-figure personal data — blog content about public figures relies only on publicly reported birth dates.
3. Other information we collect
3.1 Payment information
When paid features (reports, token bundles, subscriptions) become available, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor. SajuSis does not directly collect or store full payment card numbers; the processor collects and handles that information under its own privacy policy. We may receive limited transaction metadata (such as purchase status, amount, and a transaction identifier) to grant access to what you purchased.
3.2 Log and usage data
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers automatically collect standard technical data when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, and improve SajuSis, and to understand aggregate usage patterns.
3.3 Cookies and similar technologies
SajuSis uses cookies and comparable technologies (such as localStorage) for:
- Essential functionality — remembering your chart inputs and app preferences on your device.
- Advertising — SajuSis uses or intends to use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to SajuSis or other sites, and to measure ad performance. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings, and by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU) to opt out of participating vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising generally. You can also block cookies entirely through your browser settings, though some parts of SajuSis may not function correctly without them.
4. How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure SajuSis;
- Process purchases, once payment features are live;
- Serve and measure advertising through Google AdSense;
- Understand aggregate usage and improve the product; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. How information is shared
We share information only with:
- Service providers who host the site, process payments, or provide analytics, bound by their own confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
- Advertising partners (Google AdSense and similar networks) for ad serving and measurement, as described above;
- Legal authorities, where required to comply with law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SajuSis or others; and
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a materially similar one.
6. International data transfers
SajuSis is operated from the Republic of Korea. If you access SajuSis from outside Korea, any information collected server-side (such as log data, or payment metadata once live) may be processed in Korea or in other countries where our service providers (hosting, analytics, advertising, payments) operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers for cross-border transfers.
7. Data retention and deletion
Birth chart data lives in your browser’s localStorage under your control — you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for sajusis.com, or through an in-app “clear my data” action where available. Server-side log data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above and is periodically purged. Payment transaction metadata, once payments are live, is retained as required for accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, CCPA). Since we do not hold your birth chart data on our servers, most of that data is already fully under your control in your browser. For any server-side data we do hold (such as log or transaction data), you can exercise these rights by contacting us at hello@sajusis.com. California residents may also request information about our disclosures for advertising purposes; we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
9. Children’s privacy
SajuSis is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@sajusis.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we do hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because birth chart data is stored locally rather than on our servers by default, its security also depends on the security of your own device and browser.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SajuSis’s features change, for example when payment processing or optional account sync launch. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
